Overview

The ie40g driver provides support for PCI 40 Gigabit Ethernet adapters based on the Intel series of Gigabit controller chips.

The ie10g driver supports the following devices:

• Intel^® XL710 (40G)
• Intel^® X710 (10G)
• Intel^® XXV710 (25G)
• Intel^® X722 (10G)

This driver does not support polling.

Loader tunables

Tunables can be set in loader.cfg.

dev.ie40g%d.itr=n

Set interrupt throttling delay to n (default is 8000). n is the maximum number of interrupts per second.

dev.ie40g%d.jumboframes=1

Enable jumbo frames (>1500 bytes) for the device

Hardware

The ie40g driver supports Intel 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapters. The list of supported hardware may be found on INtime for Windows from the stack:

Diagnostics

Diagnostic messages will be logged to System Event Log.

• ie40g%d: Unable to allocate bus resource: memory A fatal initialization error has occurred.
• ie40g%d: Unable to allocate bus resource: interrupt A fatal initialization error has occurred.
• ie40g%d: watchdog timeout -- resetting The device has stopped responding to the network, or there is a problem with the network connection (cable).
