INtime networking stack.

istack.rta -i  : interface list

Description

istack.rta implements the IPv4 and IPv6 networking protocols. It is normally loaded using the netload.rta utility.

Command Line Options

-i interface list <ven0 ie1g0 ie1g1 ... >

-b Display the build date of the installed istack.rta.

-d Enable driver debug output (for diagnostics)

-l

Set the istack syslog level.
Debug output level 0..7. Default is 3 (send LOG_ERR messages and above)

`LOG_ERR`	3	Error conditions

-L Show a list of Ethernet devices assinged to the current INtime node and recognized by the network stack. Displays device IDs, name and interface name by which the stack recognizes it.

-LL List all the devices currently supported by the network stack and its drivers. Displays each device ID and a short description.

-v verbose output

Other Options

The following options can be set in %INTIMECFG%{NodeName}/etc/loader.cfg.

vm.kmem_size=n
Set the amount of memory allocated to the stack. This value should be increased which additional interfaces are added. Additional factor affecting the amount of memory required are the number of sockets in use and the size of the socket buffers. The default value is 0x80000 if not value is set. The value 0x180000 is probably more realistic.
kern.max_pri=n
Priorities are relative (less than or equal) to this, exclusive of interrupt threads.
kern.workers_stack=n
Stack size for worker threads.
kern.workers_max=n
Defines the maximum number of worker threads allocated at start up. The number of worker threads determines the number of simultaneously blocking operations. If there are too few worker threads, applications may block until a worker thread completes and is ready to service another request. In this case, increase the number of worker threads.
kern.workers_timeout=n
Since threads never time out, this parameter is ignored.
vm.cache_size=n
Cache this number of memory allocations (don't return to heap).
vm.cache_clip=n
Don't cache allocations above this size.
kern.ipc.maxsockets=n
Maximum number of sockets

Files

The following files are cached by istack:

/etc/ethers
/etc/eui64
/etc/hosts
/etc/loader.cfg
/etc/networks
/etc/nsswitch.cfg
/etc/services
/etc/resolv.cfg

The files are cached to speed access and to ensure they are accessible if Windows becomes unavailable. The network library uses the cached copy. If the files are modified while istack runs, istack must be restarted.
